Oct 2010

So lots has happened this year so far and boy am I behind! It's already Oct and I haven't posted since MAR! Well, were to start???

We moved out of our house in Sierra Vista, AZ the middle of July and took off on a road trip! We spent a week in Hamlin TX with Brad's family (sorry you couldn't make it Ryan and Melissa) and had a really good time seeing them. Then we headed North and stopped in NM to see my childhood friend Becky who lives there with her husband, who is in the USAF. After 2 days we headed north again and landed at a Marriot for 10 days while we waited for our home of the next 12 months to be avl. We moved in and 5 days later we stopped unpacking and headed to MO. =) It was REALLY nice to see everyone, sorry we didn't see more of you. We stayed just over a week and headed home. On our way home we were able to stop and see my godson Christopher. He's so big and I feel horrible missing so much of his life.

So where we are now.....

Brad got in to CU Boulder and we now live in Longmont, CO. It's about 12 miles East of Boulder, 20 miles north of Denver and we LOVE IT! Love it like I could live here forever! Our first Sunday in the house we went to Rocky Mountain Christain Church and have been going there ever since. We are both really liking it and Brad even joined the choir. Brad has class 3 days a week and so he's home alot. Grant is going to school 5 days a week from 8:30-2 so that's a BIG jump from his schedule in AZ. Grant had his 4th birthday last week & got his first BIKE! He is talking much more so that leaves me with some peace that his Autism is getting better. =) Getting better is just NOT staying the same or going backward, and these days I'll take it! Maddie had her 2nd birthday last month and is my little sidekick. She has discovered the art of coloring. She LOVES it! She "helps" both Brad and I with everything we can stand to let her. My mom and Addie's son Trey came to visit last week and it was really good to see them both! Too bad they aren't closer. I have starting going to MOPS and a woman's bible study & have met some amazing women. I should be sewing more, but by the time I get around to it I just want to crash.

For Christmas this year we are heading to Kingwood, TX to spend time with the Shearer's (and my brother Allen's family) and this is the LAST year we are driving. =) We go every other year, so next time the kids will be 6 & 4 so we'll be flying! My mom is turning 50 this year so we are going to spend our birthday together with Jordan at the beach in Galveston, TX. I hope some of my mom's sisters and friends can make it. But if not that's okay.

Lastly, Brad's file for the rank of Major is under review and we are hoping his name comes out on the list this spring. Also we have a VERY good idea that we are moving to DC come Aug. Nothing is for sure until you have papers in hand, but it's pretty much for sure.

March 2010

Well the last two months have just flown by. Lots to do getting ready for a move and tons to give away!

Maddie is talking so much and being very picky about what she wears and she MUST have a bow put in her hair as soon as she wakes up each morning. lol. LOVE IT!

Grant has started going to a farm for OT the first Saturday of the month and loves being around all the animals. His new favorite thing...TOY STORY! Thank goodness we have 1 & 2 and now (thank you Easter Bunny) he has sun glasses, a rain coat, rain boots, a toy, and the BLU-RAY Toy Story 1& 2. I am keeping my fingers crossed Toy Story 3 comes out on DVD by Christmas.

Brad got his RFO (request for orders) and we are headed to Boulder Colorado this summer. He'll graduate August 2011, then we'll rejoin the ranks. =)

First Post!!

I have decided that now is a great time to start keeping track of our lives (Brad, Taegan, Grant, and Maddie) before we look around and the kids are adults and I can't remember "the little" things anymore......

Brad submitted his first ACS (Advance Civil Schooling) packet for CU Boulder. We are still keeping our fingers crossed that GA or TX will hurry up and let us know something so we can try to get all the paper work in, in time. He is looking forward to going to school full time and having the Army pay for it. By the time he pays back the Army the time he will owe he will have been in for 13 years. So that means he'll be staying until 20 years and can retire with full benefits.

Taegan has scheduled her second knee surgery for February 18th and is exciting about being able to be active without pain. She also started getting ready for our move this summer, by selling the dining room table & chairs and going through all the clothes we never wear to be donated.

Grant LOVES school and is getting better at leaving his socks and shoes on while on his way to and from school. YAY!! He is talking better and is starting to stick up for himself against his sister. (Sometimes she can be kind of rough.) We are still working on his ability to communicate and keeping our fingers crossed that one of these days he'll be able to talk to us and ask for things without ANY prompting. God willing by the time he starts kindergarden.

Maddie is walking much better and trying to run! :) She is a climber and really enjoys music and music videos. She can be kind of rough with Grant but loves to give kisses & HATES hurting your feelings. She doesn't like to share but we are working on that. Maddie loves food.....most anything and makes the biggest messes.
